Помоему у Adobe чуть не басплатный on-line фотошоп есть, в принципе, да это возможно. Однако, тут есть одно но... думаете люди захотят возиться on-line с изображениями, если не захотели возиться с ними off-line?

кстати видел много на флеше веще где к примеру в ролик фотку человека вставляют.
по этому принципу можно сделать загрузку изображений
1. человек загружает во влеш изображение где подгоняет это в прямоугольник чтобы было видно только нужные данные(пасспорт) аля(http://www.avazun.ru/tools/obrezat/)
http://www.odyniec.net/projects/imgareaselect/
2. после происходит загрузка уже обрезанной области.


кстати может есть платные сервимы по ужатию изображений и распознованию где находится объект(пасспорт) на полотне скана.?

Снизить количество цветов в изображении можно при помощи imagetruecolortopalette(), правда это хорошо действует по весу только на изображения вроде GIF, PNG-8, для снижения размера изображения формата JPEG, PNG-24 - их размывают каким-нибудь фильтром вроде Гаусса. Белые, не отрезанные области можно попытаться вырезать, но если нет развитой библиотеки можно отрезать лишнего. Самая эффективная тактика - это ограничить размер загружаемого изображения и написать статью о том, как это проще всего сделать. Тогда пользователи волей-неволей будут стремиться подвергать изображения хотя бы первичной обработке.

PS Такой объемный код лучше прикреплять в виде файла.

посоветуйте как максимально свести изображение к минимальному весу, то чтоб данные были читаемы человеку, по ширине я ужимаю по 500px максиум к примеру, + качество 20-30%
может еще обесцвечивать или еще както дополнить?

опятьтаки не понятно как быть в случае, когда человек отсканировал паспорт с белым куском и не обрезая его загрузил :) если ужимать по размерности будет не видно данных Пасспортных

Да все можно и качество уменьшать и цвета убирать. Вы чем сжимаете и как? GDLib?

Подскажите, пожалуйста, стандартное решение сжатие изображений.
к примеру, сканов паспорта, человечков трудно заставить сжимать изображение особенно неопытных, вот и вопрос.
к примеру, средний вес ~ 3-5мб
Формат изображений любой может загрузить человек..
я ужимаю до 500px по ширине.. вроде и уменьшается размер файла... и разрешение, но вот беда, если человек отсканировал с пустотой a4 =) а где-то в углу его паспорт, + если ужать будет не видно, что там написано..

может, есть какой-то способ качество ухудшить, цвета убрать там? чтоб все данные читались, но размер был наименьшим.
